Hello 👋

My name is Adam and I’m a Software Engineer based in Poole, UK, with a general preference for server-side projects (occasionally straying onto the front-end with varied mileage).

My journey into development began like many others' - writing raw code in a web-based text editor on a hobby shared-hosting account… for fun!

After working through Mike McGrath’s “PHP & MySQL In Easy Steps” cover-to-cover, I’d arrived. There was literally nothing I couldn’t build… until I landed my first actual developer role, complete with its merciless reality check.

Over the last 9 years, I’ve enjoyed writing and maintaining production-grade Go and PHP, leading an engineering team responsible for the upkeep of critical high-scale systems, and mentoring others on their own engineering journeys.

Having delivered several group learning sessions and community meetup talks, I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences on a conference stage for the first time as soon as possible.

Away from a keyboard that makes code, you’ll find me at a keyboard that makes music - writing songs, and recording piano medleys of AFC Bournemouth terrace chants 🍒⚽️🎶
